33	UCO Student Volunteer Center Activities 2002-2003 AmeriCorps VISTA Special UCO Assignments During the past year, we have developed a volunteer database of approximately 360 student volunteers. We have made connections with over 80 community service organizations within the Edmond and Oklahoma City Metro area. We have connected with several professors on the UCO campus, which have either implemented service-learning classes or included service-learning in existing syllabi. Professors are provided with administrative support. 4. We are working closely with Campus Compact’s initiatives on a statewide level. 5. We are the only university with AmeriCorps VISTA’s volunteers serving in that capacity.
