Hello World Neighbors Prospective Volunteers! I have wonderful
news to
share with all of you we are two weeks away from the assembly
of our
World Neighbors in the Classroom educational curriculum kits.
The purpose
of the World Neighbors in the Classroom program is to share with
Oklahoma
City middle school students the voice and cultures of our global
partners
in Asia, Africa and Latin America through an innovative and
experiential
world studies and world geography curriculum. This is an
exciting program
for the State of Oklahoma and a wonderful way to connect youth
around the
world.
After the assembly of the World Neighbors in the Classroom
educational
curriculum kits, our Outreach Education program will begin
several teacher
training sessions to launch this project. And
on April 13, 2006
the
Oklahoma City Youth Advisory Council Hunger Banquet will be held
at St.
Elijah Orthodox Christian Church.
As you can see this spring is full of amazing opportunities to
connect
those of you interested in volunteering with our Outreach
Education program
as we continue to raise the awareness of youth about the cycle
of hunger
and poverty that continues to affect people worldwide.
