I’m BACK!!

Im back and kicking.. Spring semester is in full swing.. and busy as ever!

I was hoping to get some more emails from you all!  So send them this way…

UCO is notorious for having a ton of conferences and seminars this first part of the semester…

I was recently elected to the Chief Financial Officer position for my fraternity. It is a lot of work, but I love the job so far. I highly suggest that you all get involved in some way shape or form..

How are you all doing?

How are grades and how is the school life?? Winding down for you seniors? I remember so well how that last semester seemed like the slowest semester of all.. I couldn’t wait to get outta there.  Now I miss it!

So I also got this groovy award called the Nigh Scholar.  I get to go hang out down at the capitol and meet prominent state officials and learn about public service. Plus a cool thousand dollars cash.. im looking forward to it.\

HIT ME UP!

November 19, 2007

Hello again from Wonderland.  It is Monday after a long weekend, and I am exhausted (as I am sure most everyone is).

The past week and a half has been really busy.  I have a big speech coming up, and a HUGE paper due tomorrow in Social Psychology! (Like 10,000 words) No Bueno.

The good news is… THANKSGIVING BREAK IS ALMOST HERE! Except I am probably just going to work a lot. Gotta make some money! Pay some bills.

That is if I still have my job! Haha okay so here is the story…

SO I WENT TO TEXAS TECH THIS PAST WEEKEND TO VISIT ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS, INCREDIBLE GUY.  WELL I LEFT THURS NIGHT, AFTER WORK. AND I STAYED FRIDAY AND HUNG OUT, HAD A BLAST.  AND SATURDAY WE WENT TO THAT GAME (OU V. TECH) THAT DIDN’T QUITE TURN OUT THE WAY I THOUGHT IT WOULD.  WELL THAT WAS OVER LATE, AND OF COURSE WE HUNG OUT AGAIN.  WELL, I HAD WORK SUNDAY AT 3:30 (remember I work at Ted’s!). SO I CALL UP THERE AND TELL THEM THAT THERE IS NO WAY IM GOING TO MAKE IT IN, THINKING OF COURSE THEY WILL JUST SAY, “ALRIGHT MAN, THIS CANT HAPPEN AGAIN. WE’LL SEE YOU TUES.”

WELL I WAS WRONG. THEY TELL ME I NEED TO BE TEHRE, OR HAVE SOMEONE THERE IN MY PLACE.  SO I AM OFFERING PEOPLE UPWARDS OF FIFTY BUCKS (50 DOLL HAIRS!) TO WORK FOR ME SO I DON’T GET FIRED! NOBODY CAN DO IT.

SO 3:30 ROLLS AROUND, AND I GET NO CALL FROM OL’ TED’S.

SO ACTUALLY, AS I TYPE THIS, I DON’T REALLY KNOW WHETHER OR NOT I STILL HAVE A JOB. HAHAHA.

Moral of the story is: sometimes having fun with your best friend in Lubbock is way worth losing your job, until you come home!

I say that it will be okay no matter what, there are plenty of restaurants in Edmond!

In other news, I’m planning my fraternities Christmas semi-formal, which is going to be a blast.  Wish you all could come.

Well kiddos, that’s all for me!

Talk to me please :-)

I’m Back!

I’m not really even sure where to begin to fill you in on everything that has been going on over the past few weeks!

Work: I am working as a server at Ted’s Café Escondido (or Ted’s Hidden Café).  I love it. It’s an easy job for good money.  You should come in and ask for Daniel! J

School: WOW! This semester has really gotten the best of me.  I have been lackadaisical at best when it comes to my school work, which is not something im at all proud of, but I feel like maybe my mistakes can serve a purpose, and maybe influence you all to take care of business.

You really should go to class.  It is a huge freedom once you get to college to be able to pick your schedule. (The irony of that situation is that you should be able to make it to all of them since you did pick them yourself.)

Anyways, as far as campus involvement, things are looking just as hectic as they always do.  I joined the executive council for a new organization on campus called Broncho Showcase.  It’s a new variety show that we are going to put on in the spring!

It’s going to be dinner theater style, with kind of like an old Ed Sullivan variety show.  Im excited.

UCOSA (University of Central Oklahoma Student Association) which for all you Stu-Co nerds out there (ME!) it is basically student government, is insane! I am in the student senate and we are passing new student organizations like its Christmas!

As a senate, we have the power to instate or deny the applications for student organizations on campus, and sometimes we get lazy!

I am in a fraternity, and we had our first date party of the semester on Oct. 26.  my job is to plan those shin-digs.  I think it went pretty well, and I think people had a pretty good time.

Well that’s about all I have for you now.

Seriously people. Get ahold of me!

What’s this “Sleep” you speak of?!

So, homecoming is over, and you would think that maybe things would settle down a little bit?   HAHA no!  however, this is just another amazing aspect of college.  In the words of, well, someone, “you can sleep when you die.”

Somewhat crude, but totally true.

So this past week, we approved three more student organizations in UCOSA (UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA STUDENT ASSOCIATION) for all of you high school kids, that’s student government, or student council.

We are up around I think a million student organizations on campus?? Haha not really, but it’s a big #.  Which is awesome. If you can think of the activity, there is probably a club for it.  And if there isn’t one, THEN GET UP HERE AND START IT!

Let’s see. ROCK THE BLOCK UCO STYLE is right around the corner, this is going to be a phenomenal fundraiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.  I am stoked.

What else??

Oh yes, a select few UCO students were chosen to represent at the OSGA (OKLAHOMA STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION) and the SAB (STUDENT ADVISORY BOARD) Leadership Retreat.  We were fortunate enough to meet regents from the state board of regents and also the chancellor.  Good Times in Tulsa!!

EMAIL ME. Ask questions. COME TO U-C-O.

Sept. 22, 2007

So this past week here at UCO was homecoming!  Fun, yet hectic.  I am on the Homecoming Activities board here so that week, and the weeks before were crazy crazy crazy!  Homecoming itself is a blast though! We have talent show, unity fest, cheer and dance competition, organizations build huge floats, and of course we have a big parade and game!  All in all it was a blast, and I got to have my picture taken with Miss America!

Post it up, ask questions! Have a great week.
