Sexual Abuse Assault Information
Sexual abuse is an abuse of power that involves a sexual act.  Sadly, over half of all female college students report experiencing some form of sexual victimization, and one in 10 are raped by the time they graduate.    If you have been raped recently or think you may have been raped, call the RAPE HOTLINE  (405) 943-7273 for help.

Rape
The most common type of sexual abuse experienced as teen or adult is rape, and females are typically the victims.    Most rapes go unreported.   Some don’t realize that they have been raped but instead feel “icky” after being tricked, coheresed, or forced into sex.   Others know that they have been raped, but don’t tell others because they don’t want to go through the emotional pain and vulnerability of recounting the rape.   It’s best to talk to someone who will listen to your concerns if your unsure what to do.  Talk to an expert (405) 943-7273, friend, or SCC counselor (405-974-2215) to help you sort out your concerns as soon as you can.
