Welcome to the University of Central Oklahoma! The members of the FEC  Advisory Team are pleased that you have chosen to become part of our dynamic learning community. The Faculty Enhancement Center reinforces UCO’s long-standing commitment to educational excellence and exemplary teaching by recognizing and supporting university faculty in their teaching endeavors and pursuit of thoughtful innovative approaches to teaching. The Center is a faculty-driven resource that offersprofessional development opportunities focused on issues of teaching, learning, and research-based pedagogical practices in a variety of formats.  These workshops, faculty lunches & gatherings, and stand-alone programs are available throughout the academic year. The FEC is also responsible for the New Faculty Orientation, Monday, August 11, the annual Faculty Enhancement Day, Wednesday, August 13, and New Faculty Lunches throughout the Fall Semester.

New Faculty Orientation – Monday, August 11, 2008 in the Heritage Room, Nigh University Center.

A continental breakfast will begin the day’s activities and will be available from 8:15-8:45. At 9:00, President Roger Webb will welcome you and offer his compelling vision for our University. Following the President, Dr. William Radke, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs will address the group.  This New Faculty Orientation was designed by an ad hoc committee of faculty who were themselves new to UCO last year. The program has been tailored to meet your immediate needs as new faculty. Your presence and participation is an excellent way to get your career at UCO off to a sound start! Come and meet your new colleagues.

I look forward to seeing you August 11th, Nigh University Center, 8:15 a.m. Parking is available in the Visitor’s Lot, directly east of the Nigh University Center and in any campus lot. You will not need a vehicle permit that day.  Once again, welcome to UCO!
