Mickey Hepner

Dr. Mickey Hepner is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Central Oklahoma and serves as the Director of the UCO Public Policy Institute. He has authored several reports for national organizations such as the Urban Institute, the Heritage Foundation and the Cato Institute, as well as authoring several reports for the UCO Public Policy Institute. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Academy, a nonpartisan Oklahoma policy organization and is active in his church – the First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City. Dr. Hepner writes a weekly column on public policy issues for the Edmond Sun, and maintains a policy blog – Mickey's Musings.

Dr. Hepner has received several awards for his teaching and scholarly activities and was recently named the 2007 Oklahoma Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

The Jackson College of Graduate Studies honors Dr. Mickey Hepner for his outstanding work with UCO's students.
