Oklahoma Residents
Students are eligible to transfer if they are in good academic standing with their previous institution, eligible to return to their previous college, and meet the minimum grade point average on all college work attempted as outlined below:

All Transfer students who have less than 24 credit hours seeking a degree at UCO must have met the high school curricular requirements before transferring. All students who have less than 24 credit hours must submit official high school and college transcripts.
 
 
Non-Residents
Non-resident undergraduate students are eligible to transfer if they are in good academic standing, eligible to return to their previous college, and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. All students must submit official high school and college transcripts
 
Other Important Information
Students transferring from junior colleges need to be aware that a minimum of 60 semester hours of coursework applied toward the bachelor's degree must be earned at a senior college.
Transfer credits are accepted and applied to degree programs generally in accordance with the recommendations in the Transfer Credit Practices Guide published by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).
Credits from some technical colleges and professional schools may not be applicable toward degree requirements at UCO.

STEP 1 - APPLYING FOR ADMISSIONS

Send your official college transcripts from all colleges previously attended along with other documents needed to enroll
Obtain a UCO catalog
Be informed of your admissions status via mail and receive your UCO student ID number. This number must be used to conduct all UCO business.
Be informed of any skills placement tests that you need to take prior to enrollment.
If you are instructed to take the skills placement tests, you will visit the Academic Support Center, Thatcher Hall Room 106
AFTER YOU RECEIVE YOUR ACCEPTANCE LETTER, VISIT WITH AN ACADEMIC ADVISOR
 
STEP 2 - VISIT WITH AN ACADEMIC ADVISOR

Pick up a Class Schedule and Enrollment Plan Form
These materials are located outside of the Advisement Center
Sign in to see an academic advisor at the reception counter.
You will be assigned to a specific advisor based on your classification (freshman, sophomore, etc.) and major.
Confer with an Academic Advisor
The advisor will go over your placement test scores (if applicable), the course requirements of your degree, explain how transfer credits will apply to your degree, and determine if more information about your transfer credits are needed. The advisor will assist you with questions that you have about enrollment and the degree attainment process.
 
STEP 3 - ENROLLING

or enroll via web at http://central.ucok.edu
Student Information Terminals, Nigh University Lobby/Atrium Area.
At the Student Information Terminals you can check to see if a class is open or closed who the professors are, and the time and the date of the classes.
Enrolling in 0-level (non-credit) Rose State courses
Sign in to see the Rose State advisor at the Advisement Center reception counter.
Register for UCO Courses
You can either enroll via the web or take your completed Enrollment Planning for which must be filled out to the Registration Area, Nigh University Center, Room 125
Or
You can enroll via the web at http://central.ucok.edu. You will be instructed on how to enroll via the web when you visit with your academic advisor.
Pay Tuition/Fees at Bursar
A late fee will be attached to your bill if tuition/fees are not paid by the deadline
 
Step 4 - Financial Aid and Scholarships

Complete and return a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Pick up the FAFSA form from the UCO Financial Student Aid Office after January 1, 2004 or visit FAFSA on the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov
