a pass/fail grades and normally require little or no outside

HOW
CAN I GET IN A CLOSED CLASS?
Most closed classes cannot exceed the allowable limit and students should
select an alternative course. Only the academic department offering
the course can allow students into a closed class. Each semester we
communicate with the departments on campus to determine their policy on
closed classes and make that information available to students in the
Advisement Center.
Written permission
from the chairman of the department offering the course is required
for enrollment in a closed class. Departments may also enter
permission codes on the computer to allow students to enroll via Uconnect.
HOW
CAN I FIND OUT WHEN A SPECIFIC COURSE WILL BE OFFERED NEXT?
Check with the academic department offering the course.
HOW DO I
WITHDRAW FROM ALL CLASSES (COMPLETELY WITHDRAW) ?
Withdrawal prior to the first day of the term can be done
on the web
Once classes begin, students cannot completely withdraw
from all classes on the web. This action must be done in person at the
Enrollment Center or by FAX.
To withdraw in person: Obtain a Withdrawal
Form from the Enrollment Services office, obtain the required signature
approvals from Financial Aid (even if you are not receiving financial aid)
and the Bursar’s office. Then take the form to Enrollment Services
(Registration). You are not withdrawn until you receive a new printout from
Enrollment Services (Registration) that shows the withdrawal has been
processed. Do not leave the withdrawal form in any other office. Withdrawal
prior to the first day of the term can be done on the web.
International students with an F-1 and/or J-1 student visa status must
also check with the International Office, (405) 974-2390, before attempting
to withdraw. Athletes should check with the NCAA Compliance Officer, (405)
974-2310, in the Enrollment Services office.
To withdraw via fax: Make a legible
photocopy of your photo-bearing drivers license or other official
photobearing documents. Then write your request to completely withdraw
on this copy. Make sure you include your full name, your ID number,
and the semester from which you're withdrawing. Then fax this document
to Enrollment Services at (405) 974-3841. You are not withdrawn until you
receive a new printout from Enrollment Services (Registration) that shows
the withdrawal has been processed. Please be aware that during heavy
enrollment traffic times of the year, a fax withdrawal may take several days
to process, resulting in the withdrawal occurring after the no-refund
deadline, and resulting in the student being charged for courses.
WHEN
IS COMMENCEMENT?

fall, two ceremonies are held on the Saturday following final
exam week. In Spring, two ceremonies are held on Friday afternoon/evening
of final exam week and three ceremonies are held on Saturday
following final exams. UCO does not have a summer commencement
ceremony. Students graduating in the summer semester may attend
spring commencement ceremonies.

Undergraduates apply in the Graduation Support Services Office,
NUC 121 (for undergraduate degrees), graduate students apply
in the Graduate Office, 4th Floor, Nigh University Center.
HOW
MANY HOURS WILL IT TAKE TO EARN A DEGREE?
A minimum of 124 hours are required for a bachelor degree.
Master degrees require a minimum of 32 graduate hours but some
programs will require as many as 45 graduate hours.
HOW
MANY HOURS WILL COUNT FROM A COMMUNITY COLLEGE?
It varies depending upon the exact courses and the number
of courses taken at the community college level. Students are
required to complete a minimum of 60 credit hours at a senior
level (bachelor's granting) institution. Thus, a student may
take 70 hours at the community college, and all of these hours
may transfer to the senior college, and all 70 hours may apply
toward the degree, but the student still is required to take
the 60 additional hours at the senior institution. Thus this
student's program is effectively 130 hours.
The ideal student takes only 64 fully applicable and transferable
credit hours at the community college, and then completes 60
at the senior college for a total of 124 hours. This ideal situation
rarely exists.
HOW CAN
I QUALIFY FOR IN-STATE TUITION?
Prospective students are classified as in-state or
out-of-state residents for admission and tuition purposes based on
information provided on the application for admission and the applicant’s
academic history. Programs having enrollment limits may give priority
admission or class enrollment preference to Oklahoma residents.
All students, except bona fide residents of Oklahoma, must
pay nonresident tuition in addition to other enrollment fees and must meet
nonresident admission criteria. Members of the Armed Services stationed in
Oklahoma and their dependents are eligible to apply for a waiver of
out-of-state tuition. They remain classified as nonresidents and subject to
nonresident admission criteria.

to print/download the Non-Resident Military Fee Waiver form.
Any applicant presenting a transcript of credit from an
educational institution outside of Oklahoma will be assumed to be a
nonresident. It is the responsibility of each applicant to submit any
questions about residence status to the Office of Enrollment Services. A
uniform policy concerning residence status exists for all state-supported
institutions of higher education in Oklahoma.
An information sheet and petition to determine residency may
be obtained from the Office of Enrollment Services.
