  About Us

QPR:

QPR is a prevention program designed to train key staff and students in the UCO community to identify and assist individuals who may be at risk for suicide or behavioral problems. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer – the three basic steps to helping anyone at risk for suicide.

QPR has gained momentum since it was first brought to the UCO campus in 2005. More than 15 UCO staff members have been trained as QPR facilitators and these facilitators have trained over 1,500 “Gatekeepers” – those who can use the Question, Persuade, and Refer sequence to help someone in need.

If you want to find out more about QPR, visit the QPR website or contact Dr. Bruce Lochner (974-2215 or blochner@ucok.edu) at the UCO Student Counseling Center.
