UCO Named an Oklahoma Certified Healthy Business

UCO has been named a 2006 Oklahoma Certified Healthy Business by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, the Oklahoma Academy for State Goals, the Oklahoma Turning Point Council, and the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce. UCO was honored on Wednesday, December 6th during the Oklahoma Turning Point Council Annual Meeting in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Certified Healthy Business program recognizes businesses that are working to improve Oklahoma's health by providing health and wellness opportunities to their employees. The program also supports broader efforts aimed at improving Oklahoma's health status.

The program is open to profit, nonprofit, and educational institutions. Certification requirements vary by size of workplace, but in general they include providing employee assistance programs, workplace health education, opportunities for physical exercise activities, management support for health workplace environments, and sharing wellness activities within their respective communities.
