John L. Hackney, M.D., Board Certified in Family Medicine
University Health Services medical staff is supervised by John L. Hackney, M.D. full time physician. Dr. Hackney earned his Doctorate of Medicine degree from OU School of Medicine and is Board Certified with the American Academy of Family Physicians. He has served our campus part-time for many years and comes to us with vast experience as an Air Force Flight Surgeon, Edmond Regional Medical Center Chief of Staff and Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine. Dr. and Mrs. Hackney are long time residents of Edmond. Back to Top
Karen Bradford, ARNP,
Family Nurse Practitioner
Karen completed her post-Master's nurse practitioner program at the University of Oklahoma after retiring from twenty-one years at OU Medical Center. Her varied experience includes Adult ICU, Pediatric emergency room, and MediFLight. She and her husband Robert live in Oklahoma City with their dog Grete, who runs the house. Her hobbies include spending time with her four grandchildren and running marathons for fun. Back to Top

As our Assistant Director of Health Promotion, James brings to UCO his experience with the State Department of Health where he served Oklahoma since 1998. Danielle is a UCO graduate with a bachelor of science degree in community health and has a master of public health from the University of Oklahoma. She came to the Wellness Center with 10 years of fitness and program planning experience.

Johnny Watley, Fitness Coordinator
Johnny is a UCO graduate with a Master’s of Science in Wellness Management with an Exercise Science option and a fifth degree black belt with over 20-years martial arts and fitness experience. A true health and exercise advocate, Johnny aims to employ the most up to date and effective techniques to improve health, fitness level and self-esteem.

Tim Woods, Health Education
With the perspective that health and wellness is holistic, Tim educates on a variety topics across the UCO campus. With a background in communication, Tim connects with diverse audiences. For over 12 years, Tim has traveled extensively educating and entertaining students in a variety of venues and settings. Tim is an alumnus of Southwestern University in Waxahachie, Texas, and the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.

Jennifer Sipols, Pharm.D.
After Jennifer graduated from UCO in 1997 with her Bachelor of Science in Biology, she obtained her Pharm.D. from the University of Oklahoma in 2003. She completed her pharmacy practice residency at Integris Baptist Hospital and where she served as a staff pharmacist after completing her residency. Jennifer’s goal for UCO is to provide safe and effective pharmaceutical care for our students, faculty and staff. She is happy to discuss any questions or concerns you have about your medications.
