Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment
August 22-27, 2008
"We Came as Strangers, We left as Friends"

Panhellenic is the governing body over all the National Panhellenic Council sororities on the University of Central Oklahoma campus. Panhellenic has four active sororities on campus — Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Zeta and Sigma Kappa. To join one of the Panhellenic sororities, many of UCO’s female students participate in Fall Formal Recruitment. Recruitment is held annually, typically falling within the first four weeks of the fall semester. Participating in recruitment provides an excellent opportunity to meet people and learn more about the Greek community but in no way requires you to join a chapter.

Formal Recruitment takes place over several days and is a mutual selection process. During the course of recruitment, potential new members meet chapter representatives from all of the Panhellenic organizations. Additionally, potential new members are able to learn about each organization, participate in a Panhellenic philanthropy project with chapter members and tour chapter houses. The week culminates with Bid Day, which is the day that the women will receive their official invitation to join one of the four NPC sororities.
