S.T.A.R.S. :
Striving Toward Academic and Renowned Success

Purpose:
A multicultural honors organization dedicated to helping members develop communication skills, enhance their ability to work with others, and form positive relationships with other students who have similar goals.

Goals:
To recognize and encourage high academic achievement.
To encourage students to receive a higher education through civic engagement.
To encourage humanitarianism through the support of Multicultural Student Services programs and events.
To retain and support students who strive toward academic achievement.

Membership Selection:
Those seeking membership must complete a membership application. Members will be chosen by the following qualifications:
Incoming freshman with less than 30 hours must have a cumulative high school grade point average of a 3.3 or within the top 10% of their senior class.
Current University of Central Oklahoma students must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average.

Role of the General Member:
Members are required to maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Must be enrolled in, and complete, 12 credit hours per semester at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Members must participate in ten community service hours that are completed through S.T.A.R.S.
Actively participate in a minimum of three programs or events sponsored through Multicultural Student Services.
