Frequently Asked
Questions
What happens
if it rains?
You'll get
wet. Seriously though, we operate in rain, snow and any other
weather conditions. In rare situations we will go inside. Weather
conditions we go inside for are severe downpours, thunder and
lightning storms, severe winds, and other natural disasters.
Is there an age requirement?
No
and Yes. Our Games & Initiatives Experience is available for all age
groups. To experience our high elements, participants must be at
least in the 5th grade.
Members of my group may have
physical limitations. Should they still come?
Absolutely!
Our programs are customized to best meet your group’s goals. During
the low ropes part of the day, we can plan activities of low
physical intensity. When we move to high ropes, there are many
important tasks to take part in on the ground that keep the climber
safe and encouraged. Consequently, participants with physical
limitations can remain fully engaged and involved throughout the
day. It is important for our planning purposes that these challenges
are stated clearly on the
Group Information Form.
How much does it cost?
Check
out our
fee structure. Please call us with
any additional questions, 405-974-3139.
Do you offer a group
discount?
Sorry, we don't
offer group discounts. Unlike amusement parks, for more people in a
specific group, we need to have another facilitator with your group.
What should I wear?
We
operate in most any weather conditions, therefore you should dress
appropriately. We recommend dressing in layers, that are easy to
remove one layer if you get to hot. We also recommend staying away
from clothing made mostly of cotton. When cotton gets wet, it stays
wet and does not insulate well.
What should I
bring?
We recommend that
everyone has a water bottle. No matter the temperature outside we
all require water to stay hydrated during activities. We recommend
having a backpack and inside that backpack the appropriate clothing
for the day. On sunny days we recommend sunscreen and in the summer
some may want to bring bug spray. If your group has not made
arrangements for lunch to be provided you will need to bring a lunch
and remember to pack all your garbage. Also check out our
Challenge Course Survival Checklist.
When are you open?
Believe it or not we are open
12-months of the year. Our hours of operation vary according to the
times your group can visit the course. Our busiest time of the year
is from March through mid-November. We also offer off-site programs
including team building, initiatives, and visits to speak about UCO Leadership Adventures.
Is it safe?
We're glad you asked. Our challenge course is inspected four times a
year by our ULEAD Challenge Course Manager. We wouldn't be here
if it wasn't completely safe.
I'm afraid of heights. Should
I still come?
Absolutely! A common fear for a lot of people is heights. Our high
elements are 100% safe whether you're afraid of heights or not. The
wires we use in our elements are the exact same grade that the Air
Force and Navy use on Aircraft Carriers to stop incoming jets when
they land. In other words a section of this wire can hold about
24,000 pounds. (That's a fully loaded school bus, with one on top of
it!)
What are we going to do?
The activities that you
will be involved in are geared toward your group’s goals for the day
and change depending upon group performance and dynamics. Your day
is outlined by our office and given to our facilitators that will,
with their professional training, lead your group through activities
at an appropriate pace.
