Step: Walking Your Way to Wellness
What is Step
by Step? The main goal of the program is to get the UCO
community more physically active! The Step by Step campaign is
designed to increase awareness among participants
about the health and fitness benefits of walking while
motivating participants toward making positive health behavior
changes. The Step by Step program also provide data to support
future wellness programs at UCO.
It’s true that you can achieve numerous health benefits from
walking. You can improve your fitness level, blood
pressure, and cholestero l
level with 10,000 steps of activity a day.
The Step by
Step program will help you achieve better health by keeping
track of what you’re already doing. Using a pedometer, you will
record the number of steps you currently take in a day, and set
a goal to increase that number to 10,000 steps per day by the
end of the 10 week program. You just add a few more steps to
your day, until you reach 10,000 steps! You can do it!
